Marshfield Band Boosters Minutes

February 2, 2010

 

President Craig Owens called the meeting to order at 6:07 p.m. with the following members and directors present:

The Treasurer’s report was distributed by Jeannie Moreno.  Balance as of 2/2/10 is $4,054.59. 

 

Discussion ensued regarding the Dee Lewis Scholarship.  At issue—scholarship amounts due to students (several scholarships are still outstanding).  The concern expressed was that procedures/guidelines are not set for claims or the amount of time until the scholarship expires.

Doug Burnett made a motion that we notify the current senior recipient that their scholarship will expire upon graduation and the other two recipients be notified that their scholarships will expire on 2/2/11.  Motion was seconded by Jeannie Moreno and carried unanimously.

It was generally agreed by the group that Vona King would draft claim submission procedures.

 

Joy Burnett made a motion that a 10% award be given as a result of Blue Jay card sales (the funds awarded to go to the student’s D.C. savings amount).  Further discussion ensued.  Motion died for lack of a second.

 

Craig led discussion about auto window stickers.

 

Ms. Hutton discussed event dates including the upcoming Jr. High Band Festival.

 

Next meeting is to be March 9, 2010.

 

There was a discussion regarding ways to encourage participation in Band Boosters.  E-mail or note reminders?

 

Craig Owens moved to adjourn.  Jeannie Moreno seconded.  All approved by departing.
