Pep Band Membership & Letter Guidelines
2009-2010
Pep Band will meet after school on Mondays from 3:20 - 3:50 starting August 24th and lasting through November. When basketball games begin, we do not rehearse after school. Pep Band members are required to be at the basketball games by 6:30 for a warm-up/short rehearsal. The Pep Band will perform between the JV and Varsity games and during the Varsity half-time.
In order to earn a position in Pep Band & a Pep Band letter, members must:
1. Be present at every practice and performance.
2. Be early to every practice and performance. Band members should be in
place and warming up by the start of each rehearsal and performance.
3. Stay for the entire practice or performance. This means make-up tests or
meetings with teachers should be done at another time other than rehearsal.
Do not let yourself be scheduled to work on rehearsal or performance dates.
Let your boss know your schedule ahead of time.
4. Wear the Pep Band uniform at all performances: pep band t-shirt with jeans or other long pants. No coats, jackets, or other shirts are allowed over your pep band t-shirt while performing, unless we have a "special dress night."
5. Exhibit appropriate behavior at all practices and performances.
6. Master their music outside of pep band rehearsal. Help is available-just ask.
The only excused tardies or absences are those resulting from illness or family emergencies. If there is a school activity conflict, let the directors know in advance so they can work out the conflict with the other teacher involved.
