Lincoln Memorial

The following pics are of the WWII Memorial. They honor those that fought on the Pacific Islands......

....and those that fought in Europe, or Atlantic side....

...connected by a ring of 48 states and US territories....

...with a fountain and pool inbetween representing those that fought on the seas.

Each gold star represents 100 troops dead.

This is a WWII vet that I met. He was one of four brothers that all survived active duty in the war. Of the 4, 3 are still alive today.

The band prepares for their concert at the Navy Memorial. We had a good crowd from the downtown area.

The National Cathederal.

From this pulpit, President Bush spoke at President Reagan's funeral.

This cross was made from the debris at the Pentagon on 9-11.
